Recycled Table
Recycling Matters - We all know that this is the case, but sometimes you can’t immediately see the angle. Just over a year ago we redesigned the kitchen, which had a centre isle topped with a large black piece of granite which was quite beautiful. We had it removed with the help of 3 strong men & we ‘stash’ it behind the sofa, then we hit the lock-down & we had no easy way of immediately recycling it to a new home, so there it resided, for over a year. We already had a very large refectory table which to be honest was too large for the room & we are in the process of upgrading the space into a new style, so it was time for a change. Here is the story of that table ….
So the refectory table was sent off on its merry way to be sold to another happy purchaser & live with a new family & make more stories…. I have long wanted some retro leather chairs but couldn’t find the right table to go with them, or one that was dramatic & bold enough for the look I wanted. Sitting with Ben, my husband & partner in the lounge looking at the empty space. He suggested why don’t we use the granite slab & get some metal contemporary legs made for the granite. A quick search on the internet & we found a base in matt black to match my vintage bucket chairs. voilà ….. Now we have to finish the rest of the room … I will keep you briefed!
